What is Facebook
What is Facebook to you? Stalking or snooping as you have heard? If so then forget it. It is a great social networking site, and anybody who takes the time to learn how to use it can keep the snoopers and stalers out.
There are many benefits of Facebook, but being able to stalk or check up on your employees, as is widely reported, is not one of them. So what is Facebook? Before I joined Facebook, I had read a lot about it, some positive but a lot negative. However, having been with it for some time I saw most of the positives and none of the negatives. I was not blind to them because I actively sought them.
Perhaps they are not there, or perhaps because I stick to the rules I don't see the bad side, but I consider Facebook such a great site that I introduced it to my family. I now have several members of my extended family in my Friends list, and a few more besides. My daughter and I are separated by a half a world, and yet we communicate through Facebook rather than by email because it is more fun. The question 'What is Facebook' might be difficult to answer for some, but not for me.
My daughter loves her Funwall, and my son loves his games and challenges, but most of all it is something that my computer illiterate wife can enjoy. Something that brings so much fun to so many people cannot be wrong and cannot be bad. However, that is not the purpose of this page. It is to answer the question 'What is Facebook'.
If I simply wanted you to join Facebook for some reason, then I might be doing a good sales job but the objective of this website is not only to introduce you to these social networking sites but also to introduce you to their marketing potential. So, how can you use Facebook to make money? Simple!
- Firstly, you can advertise all of your websites and blogs. In the same way as you can with MySpace, you can lead people away from Facebook to sites offering your products.
- You can write a Facebook blog. Once your blog is established you could sell ads and also sponsorship on your blog.
- You can advertise directly on your page. You can advertise your product or your services. There are currently no restrictions that I have found.
- You can build up a good list of 'Friends' that are actual customers, or potential customers, and provide them with priority information before you release it on your website or blog. In fact you could use your Facebook Friends list as a virtual paid membership site from which you can remove non-payers with the click of a button.
- If you are a developer, there is money to be made through developing Facebook applications, but you would know more about that than I would. In fact Facebook offers many opportunities to those with the ideas and the will to do it. All of these people using the Facebook are looking for something to do or somebody to talk to.
What is Facebook to me? I can use it to introduce people to others via my own page that can send them to my website that offers them the registration pages for all the other social networking sites they want to visit to make new friends.
They might also click on my Adsense that are on these pages, but if not I don't worry. They might return, and they might even have filled in my opt-in form. If you want to learn more, you will also have to visit my website. What is Facebook to me might not be what it is to you, and if you have an idea on how you can use it to your benefit then put it into practise!
All it needs is a bit of imagination and the guts to do it. Too many people fail in their businesses because they don't have the conviction to put their ideas into practise. Facebook offers many opportunities to the entrepreneur, and it it still in its infancy. It has only been open to the public since 2006.
Do not believe all the stories about Facebook being used by stalkers, or by employers checking up on their employees.
But what is Facewall in comparison to other social networking sites? It is not much different to social networking sites such as MySpace, and with Facebook you only let visitors see what you decide to be made public. If you don't want stalked or your employers to find you, don't make your profile public. It's as simple as that. In any case, if you have nothing to hide, then no one will find it. If you have something to hide, then keep it hidden and don't make it public. A little tick in a little box achieves just that on Facebook.
Facebook is too extensive to describe in a few words, but it is free to join so to find out for yourself, just click on this link and find out for yourself what is Facebook to you and how you can use its benefits to your advantage.
The link opens in a new window so you click the top right exit cross to get back here of you want to. We have a lot more to offer, but it's up to you. Here is Facebook, and I hope you enjoy it (my kids love it):
