Twitter Integration

Just a quickie on Twitter integration:

You can integrate Twitter with your Facebook account very easily by visiting this page: Explore Twitter

Just click on the Facebook link and that's the integration done. Most other social networking sites also offer to integrate Twitter on the site, and you should get details on the site you use. Me, I use Facebook mostly, and integrating Twitter's a breeze.

If you haven't used Twitter, it is a free social networking service that involves short micro-blogs that you can use to let your friends know what you are doing at that moment. You can send messages to to your friends' Twitter site, or to their mobile by SMS. There are also many other third part applications you can use.

This video describes Twitter and what you can use it for: CommonCraft

Registration with Twitter is easy: all you need to provide is a user name and password, and also your mobile number. You have to confirm your mobile through a simple process that take no more than a minute, involving a response to a text message.

For more information on Twitter applications check out Twitter Wiki

If you have an iPhone, you can also integrate that with Twitter. Check out Pocket Tweets for more information.

The thing I like about Twitter is that there is RSS on your message stream, and also a Java applet that you can add to your website. You can also alter the privacy of each message to filter them out of the public loop and direct them only to who you want to see it.

You have nothing to do to use it other than register with Twitter. Twitter integration with your own social network is simple, and with Facebook it is just a click of a button away.
